Most island properties settle into a rhythm: an open-up before the season that puts the house, glass, deck and outdoor shower right, and a close-down after Columbus Day that clears the gutters and flushes the salt off before winter. Booking the two together is usually cheaper than the same visits bought separately, and it means the crew arrives already knowing where the water is, where the well hits the wall, and which side grows the algae.
